The NW03BM is an optical pointing device that does not use a tracking ball like a traditional mouse. Instead, it uses an optical sensor and digital signal processor to read and follow your mouse moves; eliminating erratic cursor movement and the need to clean your mouse or mouse pad. This product also allows the mouse to be used on virtually any surface (except glass) where a mouse with a ball would be unusable.The NW03BM's "Screen Scroller wheel" will allow you to scroll up or down, left or right the mouse and you can also alternate between open applications.  Great things come in small packages! November 13, 2008
I got this mouse for free when I purchased a targus bag for my laptop maybe 4 or 5 years ago. I have no idea what the people that don't like this mouse are talking about. I LOVE this thing! In fact, I'm using it right now while I submit this review! It's like the sports car of the mouse industry. Small, sleek, does everything you want and FAST! And it definitely turns heads when you're sporting it around the local starbucks. I recommend this to everyone looking for a laptop mouse or for something small and different. I've used mine for years and it's still working just like the first time I plugged it into my PowerBook Pro.
 doesn't work very well October 6, 2008
I wanted to like this mouse, and have used a similar one from Kensington with great success for years, but for some reason it just doesn't work very well and is a great disappointment. Now I have to go out and buy another brand of the same thing just to get work done! It's way way too jumpy, on any number of surfaces I tried. It keeps releasing the item I've selected too soon so the amount of clicking and dragging I have to do just to get one thing done has been increased tenfold. It jumps the cursor all over the screen when my hand is just sitting still not moving. Very frustrating to use. Can't wait to get rid of it.
Don't buy this mouse! September 20, 2008
I bought this mouse because i wanted something small to use with my laptop. I have to admit the size is great its about 3 inches long, good for me, might be bad for someone with big hands. It comes with a little case. The mouse worked great for about 2 days and then just stopped working! I dont know what happened, it just never worked again! I ended up just goign to Walmart and buying one from microsoft for $15. Ive had it now for a few months and its doing great. DONT BUY THIS MOUSE UNLESS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PAPERWEIGHT!!!!
Perfect for Laptops September 6, 2008
I have several of these one for each of my laptops. The size is perfect for carrying around. I never got used to using the touchpad. This item is so small I can use the wristrest on most laptops. Like most lasers it doesn't need a mousepad. I find it also works well just by using a section of the sofa while sitting on it.
Pro: very small, comes with drawstring storage bag, retractable cord
Con: small size may take getting used to for some

The main problem is the scroll wheel. Its operation is very 'iffy'. It will scroll sometimes, for a bit, then stop and sometimes even bounce the page (i.e. when scrolling down it will suddenly reverse direction for a second like a ball hitting the floor). Most frustrating, trying to get it to scroll for me. Other times it will not scroll at all, or stop scrolling for no apparent reason. It is driving me crazy! Also, the mouse click button is not smooth at all. Not natural feeling. Difficult. I bought this to replace a previous Targus, which worked fine. But this one really blows Worse mouse I've ever used.
